About Alexis

Through BeSapien Fitness, my passion is teaching people how to train their bodies for achieving their desired fitness goals or athletic ambitions. I use a process oriented approach that leads to increased mobility, increased strength, and increased power while decreasing body fat.

My Background

My background as a top high school basketball player, Division I collegiate track & field athlete, and post-collegiate semi-pro golfer has equipped me with the knowledge, movements, and progressions necessary to teach adolescents, men and women how to build and maintain strong, powerful bodies.

I have a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, a master’s degree in education, and a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) personal training certification. I also taught high school anatomy & physiology, and biology. Through my science background, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how our organ systems respond to resistance training, plyometric training and cardiovascular training.

My Training Philosophy

My training philosophy centers around compound movements that build strength and increase mobility. Compound movements resemble our bodies’ natural design as a unit of systems working together, rather than a collection of individual parts functioning in isolation. My training approach will help you:

  • Move with greater ranges of motion in your everyday life: improve your mobility and reduce discomfort through targeted exercises and stretches.

  • Achieve and maintain a stronger body: improve your strength using compound movements that require multiple muscle groups working simultaneously.

  • Gain confidence in the gym: feel empowered and comfortable in the gym environment.
